2.1. Application Process:

Requirements for applicants: Must have completed at least 12 years of primary, middle, and high school education in Korea or abroad (or be preparing to graduate).

Financial proof of $10,000 USD.

  1. Verify admission requirements with the coordinator at the International Exchange Center.
  2. Submit the application for admission.
  3. Review application and conduct interviews.
  4. Notify results.
  5. Pay tuition fees.
  6. Submit original documents.
  7. Apply for a visa.
  8. Enter the country.
  9. Enroll in the Korean language course.

III. D2 Specialized University System

3.1. Admission Requirements

To register (all of the following conditions must be met):

  • Be a foreign citizen or a foreign national who has completed the entire educational program:
    • Foreign citizens with both parents being foreigners.
    • Foreign nationals or Korean citizens residing abroad who have completed the entire educational program.

Required Korean Language Proficiency:

  • Must achieve TOPIK Level 3 or higher.
  • Candidates who have passed the HU-TOPIK exam conducted by Howon University can also apply.
  • Candidates with a TOPIK Level 2 certificate may apply after completing a one-year Korean language course at Howon University’s Korean Language Education Center.
  • The TOPIK certificate must be submitted before the start of the semester. Failure to submit the certificate on time may result in the cancellation of admission.

IV. Scholarships for International Students

Scholarships for international students Pass HU-TOPIK or achieve TOPIK level 1~2 20% discount on tuition.
Achieve TOPIK level 3 40% discount on tuition.
Achieve TOPIK level 4 or higher 50% off tuition.
Academic Achievement Scholarship Awarded to students with excellent achievements in each field of study (same as Korean students).
Merit Scholarship For students who have made positive contributions to their field of study, as recognized by the faculty.
Insurance cost support Subsidy 13,000 KRW/person/month.
TOPIK Scholarship Exam fee support: For students who achieve TOPIK level 4. When students advance from level 3 to level 4, they will receive 100,000 KRW (given only once every 4 years).
Family Scholarship When 2 or more people in the immediate family are enrolled or studying at Howon University, they will receive a 20% tuition discount (applicable to 1 person only).
