In addition to the information about Korean student visas that C – Korea has updated in the ” Student Visa section , we also want to convey to readers general information about other types of visas that can be used to enter Korea depending on the purpose and subject .​​​​ Having a clear understanding of the information will help you prepare correctly and carefully the documents in your visa application , thereby increasing the chances of getting a visa when submitting it to the Korean Embassy and Consulate General in Vietnam.​​​​​

I. KOREAN LABOR VISA

Korea is a country with the most developed economy in Asia . Therefore, the number of foreign workers coming to Korea to work is increasing , including Vietnam . To be able to work legally in Korea , you need a work visa issued by Korea .

1. Conditions for applying for a work visa :

  • People aged 18 – 39 years old , depending on the specific type of work visa , there will be different age requirements ;​​​​​
  • Have a diploma of Secondary / High School / Vocational / College / University / Vocational Certificate / Foreign Language Certificate depending on the nature of the job and the requirements of the company you are applying for ;​​​​​​​​​​​
  • Meet the health requirements according to the job requirements and the requirements of the Korean Embassy ;​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
  • Citizens with no criminal record in Vietnam or abroad ;​​​​​
  • People who are not on the list of people banned from entering Korea ;
  • People not on the list of people banned from leaving Vietnam ;

Depending on the specific type of work visa, there may be additional requirements.

5 Expert Visa E5 Extend​​ Highly skilled individuals in the field of trade and investment . This visa allows workers to work for foreign – invested enterprises ( FIEs ) in Korea .​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
6 Arts and entertainment visa​​​ E6 short​​​​ People who wish to work in the arts and entertainment industry in Korea . The E6 visa allows all holders to enter Korea and work in the entertainment industry such as : Performing artists : singers , musicians , actors , models .​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
7 Professional engineer visa​​​​​​ E7 Extend​​ Highly skilled candidates with an engineering degree or higher ( 2 years of specialized program or higher ) , who have a Korean company accepting them for work and have their skills verified with a contract of over 2 years and a minimum salary of 1.9 million won .​​​​​​​​​​
8 General labor visa​​ E9 Extend​​ For unskilled workers in Korea under the EPS ( Employment Permit System ) program issued by the Korean Government . This visa allows citizens from foreign countries to live and work in Korea .​​​​
9 Visa to work on a ship E10 4 years 10 months Foreign workers come to Korea to work on ships / boats .​​​​​​​

II . KOREAN TOURIST VISA

Korea is also famous for its idol culture and K – Pop , and the beautiful scenery in Korea through the four seasons also attracts international tourists to come to this beautiful country to admire . The culinary culture of the ” Land of Kim Chi ” is also a highlight that brings wonderful taste experiences for everyone . Therefore , the number of tourists coming to Korea increases every year .​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

To make your trip to Korea more convenient , applying for a Korean visa is the first and most important step . If you know and understand the information about the duration of a Korean visa , you can be proactive and increase the success rate in applying for a Korean visa . Depending on the purpose , there will be different types of visas , corresponding to different lengths of stay .

  1. Short – term Tourist Visa (C – 3): For visitors who want to come to Korea for tourism , sightseeing , conferences , seminars , etc. C – 3 visa can be issued for a maximum stay of 30 days ( Single Entry ) or 90 days within 1 year ( Multiple Entry ) .
  2. Single – entry tourist visa ( C – 3-1 ) : For visitors who want to come to Korea to visit relatives and friends , participate in conferences , seminars , friendly sports competitions , invest in public projects , etc. The C – 3-1 visa has a maximum stay of 30 days .​
  3. Multiple – entry tourist visa ( C – 3-9 ): For visitors who want to come to Korea for tourism , sightseeing , or vacation for a longer period of time . The C – 3-9 visa has a maximum stay of 90 days within 1 year .
  4. Group tourist visa ( C – 3-2 ) : is a type of visa for people traveling to Korea in groups organized by travel companies . This type of visa allows tourists to enter Korea multiple times within 1 year , with a maximum stay of 15 days per entry.

III . VISIT VISA

Korean family visit visa or C3-1 visa is a type of visa issued to those who want to come to Korea to visit their children / parents / siblings who are living , working , or studying / working in this country .​​​​​​​​​​

Korean family visit visas are usually valid for 3 months ( 90 days ) for a single entry with a maximum stay of 90 days / entry . However , the length of stay of the applicant may be longer or shorter depending on the person , the purpose of entering Korea , etc.​​​

Length of stay :​

  • One – time photo import : Up to 90 days​
  • Multiple photo entries : Maximum 180 days within 1 year .​​

1. Conditions of the inviting side ( Korea )

  • Being a Korean married to a Vietnamese citizen​​​​​​​
  • Belongs to one of the following cases , including :​
  • Currently residing long – term and permanently in Korea ( with F2 , F5 Korean visa )​​​
  • Currently living and working in Korea for at least 6 months ( with D2 visa )
  • Currently living and working in Korea with D5 , D8 , D9 visas , income is twice the average salary in Korea .​​​​​​​
  • Have an investment visa with a minimum investment capital of 300 million won and have lived in Korea for at least 6 months​​​​​​
  • Married to settle down​​​ Single parent raising children without F5 residence card or Korean nationality​​​​​​​​​​​​​​.

2. Conditions on the receiving side ( Vietnam )​​

Indians applying for a family visit visa at the Korean Embassy and Korean Consulate General in Vietnam must meet one of the following conditions :​​​​​​​​​​​​

  • Spouses or relatives of Korean citizens permanently residing in Korea​​​​​​​​​​​​​
  • The applicant is a parent or sibling of a person studying in an undergraduate , master ‘s or doctoral program in Korea .​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
  • Is a parent or child under 18 years old of a person married to a Korean citizen​​​​​​​​
  • Brothers and sisters of a person married to a Korean citizen​​​​​​
  • Father , mother , siblings , spouse , children of the person working in Korea under E7 visa​​​​​.

IV . KOREAN MARRIAGE VISA

Korean marriage visa ( symbolized as F -6-1 visa ) is a type of visa for foreign citizens who have completed marriage procedures with Korean citizens in accordance with the legal regulations of both countries and are intending to live in Korea .

After being granted a visa , foreigners can enjoy some of the same rights as Korean citizens , including the right to work , study , receive medical care , etc. Creating conditions for international couples to live , work , and raise a family together in Korea .​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

This type of visa allows you to enter Korea once within 3 months from the date of issue . You will be allowed to stay in Korea for a maximum of 90 days . After 90 days , you need to apply to change to a residence card for foreigners and extend your stay .​​​​​​​​​

1. Subjects allowed to submit application for Korean marriage visa :​​

  • Vietnamese citizens residing outside Korea​​​​​​​​
  • You must be 18 years of age or older ( for women ) and 20 years of age or older ( for men )​
  • Have completed marriage procedures with Korean citizens in accordance with the legal regulations of the two countries .​​​​​
  • Want to maintain marriage and live long term in Korea .​​
  1. Conditions for applying for a Korean marriage visa :​
  • Provide all required documents for marriage visa​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate in Korean ( TOPIK level 1 or higher )​​​​​
  • Proof of marital relationship , acquaintance process with Korean wife / husband​​​​​
  • Proof of financial capacity of Korean spouse​​​​​​​​​​
  • You meet the health and character requirements and have no criminal record .​​​​​​​
  • You have not violated any Korean immigration laws in the past 5 years .​​​​​​​​​
  • You are not a person who poses a risk of harming the interests of Korea .​​​​​​​​​
