II. D4 LANGUAGE SYSTEM
The Korean Language Education Center of the International Cooperation Department, Gachon University, was established in 2004 as the Korean Language Program of the Institute of International Languages. In 2012, it was expanded and reformed into the Korean Language Education Center of the International Cooperation Department, with the aim of becoming a professional organization for the globalization of the Korean language.

2.1. Information about the regular program
The Korean language program of the Korean Language Education Center at Gachon University is divided into levels based on the results of the students’ language ability test: Basic Class 1+2, Intermediate Class 3+4, and Advanced Class 5+6.
Each class is held 5 days a week for 10 weeks. The total training time from basic to advanced level is 1 year and 6 months, but completing the intermediate course in 1 year is enough to have good communication skills.

3.3. Registration conditions
Nationality: Students and parents must have foreign nationality (other than Korean nationality).
Education requirements:
Korean: Achieve TOPIK 3 or TOPIK IBT 3 certificate or higher, or can submit this certificate before admission (must achieve TOPIK level 4 before graduation).
English: Achieve English certificates such as TOEFL (PBT: 530, CBT: 197, IBT: 71), IELTS (5.5), CEFR (B2), TEPS (600 points), or NEW TEPS (326 points).
- Note: Students from countries where English is their native language will be exempted from the English language proficiency requirement if they provide proof of completion of secondary or university studies in that country.
Multilingual Program (Business Administration, Education): Classes, theses, and tutorials will be conducted in English, Korean, or Chinese. Therefore, students do not need to submit TOPIK or English certificates.
For students supervised by professors: Students may be exempted from submitting an English certificate upon admission, but must submit a language certificate within 6 months of admission (applicable to majors in the field of science and technology).
IV. SCHOLARSHIPS
Types of scholarships and financial aid for undergraduate and graduate students:
4.1. Scholarships for students graduating from the school:
Conditions based on undergraduate GPA:
- GPA from 4.25 or higher: 100% tuition support.
- GPA from 4.0 or higher: 75% tuition support.
- GPA from 3.5 or higher: 25% tuition support.
4.2. Specialized industry scholarships:
- Applicable to new students of Master’s and PhD programs.
- Full-time: Students receive full scholarships.

General industry:
- First semester: 100% tuition.
- Subsequent semesters: 50% tuition.
- Requirements:Masters: Publish a paper in a journal listed by the Research Foundation within 1 year of graduation.PhD: Publish 1 paper in a Research Foundation journal to qualify for graduation.
Advanced industry:
- Full scholarship throughout the course of study (100% tuition).
- Conditions:Master: Publish an article in an SCI journal within 1 year of graduation.PhD: Publish an SCI article before graduation and one more article within 1 year of graduation.
